Description:
Ketoconazole cream is a topical antifungal agent that contains Ketoconazole which is an imidazole-dioxolane antimycotic agent that has a broad spectrum of activity against dermatophytes, yeasts and other pathogenic fungi.
Composition:
Each tube 30g contains 600mg of Ketoconazole.
Indications:
Ketoconazole Cream is indicated in fungal infections of the skin which includes tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis, cutaneous candidosis, tinea versicolor and seborrheic dermatitis.
Dosage and administration:
Ketoconazole Cream should be applied to the affected part of the skin once or twice daily to cover the affected area and the immediate surrounding.
Treatment should be continued for a sufficient period at least a few days after the disappearance of all symptoms.
The usual duration of treatment is: tinea versicolor 2-3weeks, yeast infections 2-3 weeks, tinea cruris 2-4 weeks, tinea corporis 3-4 weeks, seborrheic dermatitis 2-4 weeks and maintenance dose is once or twice daily in this case.
Contraindications:
Ketoconazole Cream is contraindicated in individuals with a known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.
