Paraxylene is a colorless, transparent liquid, fragrance smell, toxic, and easy to crystallization under low temperature. It’s relative density is 0.8611, melting point is 13.2 degree celsius , boiling point is 138.2 degree celsius, freezing point is 12.95 degree celsius, the explosion limit is 0.1% to 5.3%, and it is soluble in ethanol and ether, insoluble in water.
Paraxylene is the main organic raw material, mainly for the production of dimethyl terephthalate and terephthalic acid as the intermediate product of plastics and polyester fiber, also as the raw material of coatings, dyes and pesticides.
