Properties

Function
Drying and adsorption: Silica-alumina gel is used for air drying in the process of air separation, and adsorbs acetylene in the process of preparing liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen. It is also widely used in the drying process of compressed air and various industrial gases. In addition, silica-alumina gel can also be used as a liquid adsorbent, playing an important role in the petrochemical, electric, brewing and other industries.
Catalysts and carriers: Silica-alumina gel is often used as a catalyst and catalyst carrier in the petrochemical industry. Its stable chemical properties make it an ideal medium for many chemical reactions.
Gas separation: Silica-alumina gel can be used to separate light hydrocarbons from natural gas, reduce the dew point of hydrocarbons, and thus produce natural gas gasoline. In this process, natural gas is also dried.
Protective layer: In some applications, silica-alumina gel can be used as a protective layer for fine-porous silica gel and fine-porous silica-alumina gel. When liquid water is contained in the operating system, the use of silica-alumina gel can achieve a relatively low dew point.
