Micronized PE wax with wear resistance
Micronized wax exhibits wear resistance, rendering it suitable as an additive in diverse industrial applications. Its abrasion-resistant properties primarily stem from the protective layer it forms on coated surfaces or substrates, effectively countering friction and scratches.
Wear Resistance Mechanism: Micronized wax enhances wear resistance by increasing coating hardness and surface smoothness. For instance, the core-shell structure of acrylic micronized wax disperses external forces, reducing localised stress on the coating. Simultaneously, its smooth surface lowers the coefficient of friction, thereby minimising scratch formation.
Primary Application Areas:
Coatings and Inks: Incorporating micronized wax into solvent-based coatings and inks (such as gravure printing inks) improves scratch resistance, anti-scratch properties, and anti-blocking characteristics while preserving coating gloss and flow properties.
